The Grade II Listed, Great Tythe Barn forms the centrepiece of the Central to the 200-acre Folly Farm estate and provides a wonderfully unique wedding venue.
First Impressions Count
Your first sight of the 16th-century barn will take your breath away. Its soaring height, vaulted ceilings, large exposed oak beams and Cotswold-stone walls transport you back in time. Sympathetically restored, this historic tithe barn retains many original features while incorporating 21st-century comforts such as smart wood flooring with under-floor heating, atmospheric lighting and large, glass entrance doors.
Emphasising the Great Tythe Barn's historic importance as a former working farm building, a unique assortment of antique farming implements decorate the stone walls including an enormous blacksmith's bellows in one of the galleries. Packed with character, history and beauty, the result is a magnificent and elegant setting for your wedding ceremony and reception.

A Versatile Venue
The barn offers a great degree of versatility - it's a stunning setting not only for your Wedding Reception but also for your Civil Ceremony. Whether you want an intimate wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast with just family and close friends; or a ceremony for up to 200 followed by a wedding breakfast and evening party, the choices are infinite. We also provide the option of a marquee on the lawn for up to 500 guests.
The Great Tythe Barn is so spacious that there are three separate areas, namely Estcourt, Shipton and Newnton which can be configured to suit the size of your party. Two stunning galleries add even greater versatility. During inclement weather, drinks are served in the spacious gallery overlooking Shipton, either after the ceremony or on your arrival after a church service. The second gallery overlooks the dance floor and can be used for a variety of purposes depending on your requirements. There's even a romantic Minstrel's Gallery, which is a superb spot where a harpist or musicians can play during your wedding breakfast.
